NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING
FOR PROPOSED USE OF U.S. EPA BROWNFIELD GRANT
MONDAY, July 20 5:00 P.M.
ROOM 128 – WEST ALLIS CITY HALLThe City of West Allis has received a $3. 5 million U.S. EPA Revolving Loan Fund Grant. The City of West Allis will hold a public informational meeting regarding the environmental conditions and remediation relating to the following:
The property at 1605 S. 66 St. (Tax Key No. 454-0655-000) and 6680 W. Mitchell St. (Tax Key No. 454-9006-000) and providing an EPA Revolving Loan grant in the amount of $500,000 to SoNa II, LLC.
The public information meeting is being conducted by the Economic Development Program on behalf of the City of West Allis. It will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20 in Room 128 at West Allis City Hall, 7525 W. Greenfield Avenue. The purpose of the meeting is to allow for public comment on the proposed environmental clean-up work and the proposed use of U.S. EPA funds. The public information meeting is for the public to discuss and review the environmental clean-up alternatives. The goal is to welcome public involvement in the process and allow for review of the Administrative Record pertaining to the site.
The Administrative Record will be available for each parcel now through Monday, July 20, 2026 within the Economic Development Program office, West Allis City Hall, between the hours of 11:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The Administrative Record includes a Community Relation Plan, the environmental investigation record including reports, plans, and WIDNR submittals for the site stated above.
The public is invited to make verbal comments during the public information meeting or provide written comments to the City at development@westalliswi.gov regarding the proposed use of funds and remediation work within 30-days from the date of this publication. All public comments along with final plans and a request for authorization to use funds will be sent to the U.S. EPA by Friday, July 24, 2026.
